The Title

I haven't updated my blog in quite a while, so here goes...

In the past few weeks (October 25th) I finally staked my claim. Sprinna is officially my girlfriend! So many events led up to the actual event, it was a great great weekend, a few weeks ago.

For starters, I dropped off my OEM sides and rear for paint, and my front for repair, so I was excited to be finally completing my lip kit. I dropped it off at my painter on that Saturday and went from his place to Mitsuwa Japanese market. Man, I love that place.

This was the first time that Sprinna had been to Mitsuwa before so it was definitely a cool experience. She was kind of surprised that it wasn't more like 99 Ranch Market. After we walked around and found the candy aisle, we bought some Hi-Chews and some drinks like Calpico and Aloe. Afterwards, I treated her to some legit Japanese food. We both got some tonkatsu curry. Shit was delicious! I wish I had brought my camera to take some pictures of it. Honestly, it made me appreciate an affordable and tasty Japanese meal. After that, we headed down the 55S towards the coast, and hopped on PCH.

From there I drove southbound until we hit Laguna Beach. There's this neat spot in Laguna Beach that overlooks a lot of the city and you can see the ocean. The only problem is that it's in the middle of a random neighborhood so I didn't quite remember how to get there. We ended up getting lost in this neighborhood but it was cool because we just spent time looking at all the awesome houses in that area. Ironically however, we became un-lost when I found the street I was looking for. After that we went on a short hike to some benches that overlooked the ocean. It was a nice way to spend some time with her.

We got kind of cold so we left and went back to my house. When we got there, I thought it would be cool to watch Planet Earth and eat popcorn. She agreed. My mom came home for like 30 minutes and left (mind you it's midnight) so it was just the two of us. I told her after an episode though that we needed to go to bed since it was so late, and since we had to get up early in the morning.

The morning came, and man was it FUCKING EARLY. I got up, and woke her up, and we headed out of my house by 6:00 AM. Hopped on the 241, then the 133, then the 405, then the 110, and took that all the way until the freeway ended. Where my car took me was a place known as Sunken City in San Pedro. We slid under the fence that separates the roadway from the ruins, and we walked to watch the sun rise. At the ruins there is a lot of graffiti and broken stuff, and this was also a really cool thing for her to see. We walked around a little bit and I walked her to the top of a mound with a piece of asphalt on it, and we stood there looking at the ocean. Pelicans flew by, the waves were crashing lightly, the sun was coming up, and the fog horns in the distance were soothing. Nobody else would bear witness to out time at Sunken City that day, which was odd because usually there's some fucked up hobo knocked the fuck out under a rug or something there. At the top of that mound, I held her hands tight and asked her to be my girlfriend... IN CHINESE! Not just in Chinese, in Cantonese! It sounded so awkward haha. "Nay seung mmm seung dzwo ngo gol luy pung yao." Chinese for AWESOME. She laughed REALLY HARD because she had trouble understanding, so I said it in Mandarin. "Ni yao bu yao shi wo de nu pung yao." That she understood perfectly clear and she said yes!

We left after shooting some SIQQQQ photos and got breakfast at a nearby diner. From there we drove home and knocked out. It was a great weekend and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I have eaten my words

Alright, so I have a few denim head friends that are always telling me how much BETTER their denim is compared to my 50 dollar Levi No.511 jeans. They tell me about these little journeys they go through in order to get the fade they want from their jeans. My friends will go a year without washing their jeans once. Pretty nasty right?

Well. I told them all about how I was against it for the longest time. On last Sunday however, I had to eat my own words. I tried on a pair, and I was like wow these feel nice. THEY'RE STIFF AS FUCK. I feel like I have cardboard around my legs and it feels nice.

The story behind this is that my room mate Dennis had bought these jeans online and they were just too slim for him. They are VERY skinny mind you, but I'm a little slimmer than he is so they fit me better. He was going to return them and just save himself the trouble, but then he told me to try them on before he sent them back. So I did, thinking very carefully about what I was doing. They fit and, according to Dennis, I'll fit them perfectly once they've stretched out a little bit.

They're a size 29 waist (yeah I know) and a 34 length. Since Sunday (6/21/09) I've been wearing them frequently and they have stretched out around my waist a little and have started forming some nice stacks.

Stay tuned...

Fuddrucker Fridays!

So it's been FOREVER since I've updated this spot. A lot of things have happened, and damn are they intense. Jeremy and I lost our jobs. The QQ is strong with this one. That hasn't stopped us from accomplishing our dreams. We're both trying to become employed again so we can "pimp ze auto"...s.

Dom hosted another Fuddrucker Fridays meet and it was really chill. There weren't any HXC ricers that showed up (fuck you SRT4 guy), there were no verbal assaults, and no physical discrepancies that came from the meet. Even the police rolled by a few times but they never stopped or second guessed the gathering. That's what permission does for you! Ha!

Here are a few sample pictures. More can be found on my Flickr account.
